I purchased a pair of the Gauder Akustik Berlina RC7 last year. In the first 6 months 2 bass components failed. worst was that the finish delaminated, the black piano finish developed a crack.
Germany was not helpful, actually rude. Disappointed.

Hi Mike,
From what I understand AXISS Audio just recently took over the product line. Arturo is a major distributor with many reputable lines. One of the benefits of a top-notch distributor is that they can provide excellent support for products from manufacturers who, well… , many who are just engineers who would rather be doing R&D and building products; many of whom are just not very good at interacting with customers; and many of whom speak a different language [and sometimes all of the above! :-)].
Seems like you did have a serious string of ‘bad luck’ there.
Hope it all works out!

Hi Mike – from Mike 🙂
Actually the previous distributor USA Tube Audio exchanged the speakers for me and were very helpful. My experience with the folks at Gauder, not good. I contacted them as well just to discuss it and they were not helpful.
My main point is the issues with the finish, cracking in the Piano Finish 🙂
I later found out from Roland Gauder, that all the cabinets are made in China!
You really have to be careful.

Hi Mike,
I’m sorry what happend to you and at this price point one should expect top class quality and service! However, my experience with the product and the manufacturer was always positive: I currently have a Berlina RC 7 with the diamond tweeter and before I had the Cassiano (bought in 2007) always with the diamond tweeter. I never had any issues with the cabinets or the piano gloss finish it still looks like at the first day….
I can assure you that all the cabinets are made in-house in Germany as I have been twice visiting their factory and have also talked several times to Dr. Gauder. There must have been a missunderstanding but are cabinets are definitely NOT made in China!
Anyway, I hope it works out well for you!
