The Z-Tip
[Also from spintricity from about 3 years ago. Don’t have all the photos here – but hopefully it is still evocative :-). ]
Finally, finally, they are here.
Especially developed by NASA for the shuttle astronauts so that they can understand all those garbled messages from Mission Control, these amazing z-tip swabs are now available to audiophiles everywhere.
Haven’t been able to understand the words coming out of Mick Jagger’s mouth before? Dylan? Judas Priest? Not a problem.
You can even listen to your system upside down!
And for the minimalist – we have single-ended tips, available in a monotip configuration. They are very popular with people who believe short swab lengths result in purer, cleaner swabbing.
Stereo Z-Tip: $100 box (one dozen)
Monotip Z-Tip: $150 box (one dozen)
🙂
I like the idea! However, I will wait till the version II comes out before getting serious about buying. Johnson and Johnson is probably simply rebranding there existing product. Boy oh boy, are they in for treat when they start dealing with all these picky yet superlative golden eared ‘philes!! Here is an example of actual questions posited in the last 5 minutes:
*Are these one sided or are these doubles?
*Do they come in black to match components when sitting on my rack?
*Are they good for more than one use?
*Is the warranty for the original owner only or transferrable?
*Can you send me a better picture…this one doesn’t show me what I need to see?
*Why do you have no feedback?
*You should post some reviews to help the sales of a new audiophile product.
*Do you allow in home demo before purchasing? If so, do I pay the freight/insurance both ways if I do not purchase?
*What effect do these have on the sound of my equipment? in my room? with my music?
*Are they better than Costco’s generic brand?
*When will the new version II hi def model be available? How will that compare to the present model?
*Will you be selling tour demo’s at a reduced rate when the new version arrives?
I need to stop. I sound like some of my past customers. However, laughter is the best medicine!!
