Extreme Avantgarde / Burmester System Sighting
Another cool sighting, this time on Avantgarde’s website where users can post photos of their systems.
Avantagarde Trio Classico systems
I think what makes this especially cool is the Clearaudio Statement turntable and how it is positioned right out there in front.
It looks really accessible and awesome there, and one can hope that the basshorn is a side-firing horn so that it is not blasting directly at the table itself.
Considering how dynamic the horns are combined with how extremely dynamic that table is… whoa boy, this must be something … quite dynamic… to hear [even though the electronics, Burmester, is somewhat [much] quite civilized, dynamically, compared to, I think, most other electronics out there – we had a nice Burmester pre here for many years before we decided to go nuts. But, on the other hand, the size of those girnormous Burmie amps might remove any semblance of this being in any way a civilized presentation.]
Yep, love to hear this system [reggae must be AWESOME]. But I would make sure I was holding onto something… 🙂
This turntable is not Statement but Understatement 😉 as it is made lower by order because of screen behind it .
What you can not see in the picture is wiring. System is fully wired with Nordost Odin cables.
Thanks to the Slovenian dealer two years ago I spent a pleasant afternoon and enjoyed the hospitality of the owner, but left this beautiful listening room with the opinion that the ful potential of the system is not fully utilized.
The owner usually listen to dance music from the 80s (Yello, etc.).
Hi venticinque,
…UNDERstatement… … OK…. 🙂
This actually also sounds useful for the shorter people among us [for example, Neli in one who finds some of these turntables with built in racks too tall for comfort when she is cuing a record].
Wow. Odin. Seems like that would just add to the overall dynamic effect… It is so interesting that the system, as you experienced it, was not fully realized. The electronics is the only thing I am not all that familiar with…. but maybe the owner wants to creep up to Dynamics to Die For [for for for for] … but not go over the edge?
Yello? Neli likes them, has several CDs [I know this because they are sitting in the hallway downstairs after she recently dug them out for a caller who also was into Yello] Me? I like Michael Jackson… Thriller, Bill Jean, Beat It… [makes me kind of unpopular whenever I play it here though 🙂 ]. It would indeed be hard to test the extent of a systems performance with just this kind of music though [they are, however, fairly dynamic… and should render well on a dynamic system]
Take care, and Thanks for the insight into this system!
