RMAF 2007 Photos
We will be taking photos, we hope, during the show.
The (currently empty) main page of the show report is showing our room this year. Hey, why not? I never seem to get a chance to take a photo of the hotel itself from the outside, with the mountains in the background – which would be my first choice. Maybe this year I’ll get outside? With the camera?
Only other show report I could find was EnjoyTheMusic. Hmmmmm…..
Supposed to be 130 room this year compared to 100 last year. Let’s hope people come. But it’ll be fun in any case. And lifting all this gear up and down the stairs, and setup at the show, is great exercise – Neli and I are always a lot skinnier when we get back from these things. 🙂
Hey nice show report, I found this one online a little while a go. It’s a little different way of doing coverage, but if you get an account you can see high resolution pictures.

Hi Brett,
Thanks, we’ll link to it from the show report’s front page.
Just FYI, everybody, there are a lot of pictures and details people can see without registering
Thanks,
Mike.
Mike,
Hello. Please accept my compliments on the show report, OUTSTANDING job!!! It was a herculean undertaking to put forth the pictures and commentary, but you certainly set a high standard for all of us to follow.
As you said, no show report from me this time. I didn’t feel it appropriate, as I spent the lion’s share of the weekend manning our own room, and didn’t get to hear most of the others. I did visit a few friends and some other rooms of particular interest to me. A few short, non-sensical observations…
1) Your room did indeed sound excellent
2) I was quite excited to see Apogee back. Perhaps my enthusiasm tainted my sonic observations with rose colored glasses, but I heard a lot of potential in the loudspeakers. Of course, they need a much better room (as most of us do) to really get a handle on them
3) Your comments on the Odyssey room hit the nail on the head. I’m always impressed by the sound Klaus is able to produce on such a modest investment. He really sets an example that affordable, good sounding American high-end audio manufacturing is not only achievable, but a reality
4) I enjoyed the rich, full-bodied sounds coming out of my friend Duke Lejeune’s (Audiokinesis) room. Also liked the updated look of the AtmaSphere S30 stereoblock; Ralph’s made a tremendous improvement there
5) Overall, the show had great energy and cammeraderie, as well as being laid back and fun at the same time. As a veteran of visiting the NYC area shows, this was a far better experience in my opinion. Further, it was great to see that tubes and high-end audio attract such a devoted following. The number of young people, especially in the ranks of the alternative audio press was incredibly heartwarming. I think we’re in better shape than people predict
Finally, it was a pleasure to finally to meet you. You are both the supreme gentleman and a good person.
Thank you!
Joe Trelli
Hi Joe,
Thank you so much. You are too kind, as always.
Glad to see that you are still working those show reporting skills – and we love that you posted some of your impressions of the show.
Yeah, we have Apogee as kind of the unofficial 5th place in a previous blog post. And they are cool looking, to boot…. and… that Red! Hopefully we will see them at CES.
The energy at the show… it was perhaps calmer? And perhaps more of a mainstream feel to it, mostly ordinary folks who wanted to check out a bunch of stuff as opposed to the guys who know the number of windings on all transformers ever made and only want to visit those rooms where the total sum of the number of windings of all the gear in the room is a prime number.
In other words if ordinary audiophiles, who love hi-fi but don’t obsess over it [I know, that rules us out as being ordinary… big surprise here], feel comfortable at this show, which it appears that they do, then this could really become a very large event.
In the next year or two this show should rival CES for size, and for consumers! That is so awesome. No more trying to ‘sneak’ into CES and feeling uncomfortable cause you are not badged a ‘buyer’ [or feeling uncomfortable because you are].
Take care, Trelja,
Mike.
