Love the Acapella speakers
What makes the Audio Note AN/E SEC speakers $73K? They look so simple.
Hi Ira,
Besides the fact that it is extremely difficult [impossible] to find any other small-ish speaker that is highly efficient [for us who love low-powered amps] that sounds good..
They also have an extremely large amount of silver [which is expensive] in the outboard-crossover box. It is rumored [though I personally have not calculated this out] that one could have bought, several years ago, AN speakers of this caliber, play them for many, many years, then when you are all done, melt down the silver they have inside, and make a profit [because the price of silver had gone up sufficiently].
Hope this helps…

And … we’re off … to the Newport Beach Show we go
Hi Ira,
I’ve been meaning to respond to your inquiry on the E SEC Signatures for a while; things are a little crazy here.
They do look simple. They look like an old school box. On a stand. In a nice veneer. Regarding the pricing– it’s really not just the silver, or the parts cost etc — Audio Note loudspeakers just have to be heard to be appreciated. Preferably with Audio Note’s own electronics.
And we love the Acapellas too …
Kindest regards,
-neli
