Mike and Neli,
Interested in your comments on this room. I probably shouldn’t say before you comment, but I like the sound when I heard it at the Washington DC show, especially at the price point.
I agree. This one was of my favorite rooms as well. To get this much high-end equipment and this much excellent sound and musicality for $6,900 is just exceptional. This is definitely a company that could benefit from more exposure–or perhaps it is better to keep it a “well-kept secret.”
Odyssey Audio almost always shows up on our best of show list for RMAF [for lower-priced rooms]. This year he ‘made’ me sit down in the back, off center and not far from the rear wall and really CRANKED some kind of weird music that changed genres every 60 seconds or so – and it was AWESOME. No, the sound did not have the resolution and inner dynamics spit-and-polish that we have come to expect from the [few that can actually be called] better systems. But almost no bad behavior – no edge or hardness – and this at significant volume on difficult material [do you know how rare this is?].
