Very cute amplifiers from Napa Acoustic. These artworks representing famous paintings actually make music.
Genesis was the first room at the show to get sound playing on the first day – many, many hours before we did. We were so envious 🙂
Sorry, I wasn’t able to get a better shot of the larger system – a woman was listening to the smaller system and the way the seats were setup it just wasn’t possible at the time.
Very nice open and dynamic sound in a larger room and they ALWAYS play great music [to my taste] whenever I wander into their rooms at shows. This room is not so large as their Giant room at RMAF and it helped the sound be more relaxed, I think. One of the best sounds of the show anywhere near this price point to my ears.
[Somehow I missed this room when I took the tripod around, but you can see the full room taken from my Nexus phone on Cheers, and I did get a few shots of the Zu Audio speakers with the better camera]
Almost techno-club bass with the larger open-baffle speakers with 15 inch woofers. PureAudioProjects is a new company going for high performance and low prices.
This Whammerdyne amplifier was driving the bigger speakers in the room.
Our ‘other side of the wall’ neighbors. [Our apologies to Joe and Alan for those times when we got carried away with the volume – even with our systems on opposing sides of the rooms, we still heard each other at various times]. Heard many people say good things about this room in the hallways.
Martin Logan, Pass, MiT, Aurender room at the California Audio Show 2017. Nice ‘across the hall neighbors’ to have at a show.
Busy day. This photo is during one of the very few quiet times.
Today was a blast.
This photo is taken with a fixed 50mm f1.4 lens which is about the best this Canon 5D camera, mounted on a tripod [but forgot my remote control. doh! tomorrow…] is capable of doing, IMO [and I had to take it from the rear corner of the room]. Hope to take this around to all the rooms tomorrow or Sunday.

Setup day. More pictures on our live party on Cheers:Â California Audio Show 2017
Room is 22 x 27 feet.
Acapella Audio Arts and Audio Federation at California Audio Show 2017.
The show is coming right up!
This is the ad we are running featuring Acapella. We are also showing with Audio Note [who also has another room at the show].
We will be on the 1st floor in Boardroom V. It is a large room, and we are trying to get some sofas for the room.
We like sofas in our rooms at shows. Why? Because they are more comfortable than the somewhat uncomfortable chairs typical at shows.
Yeah, sometimes it puts your ears and a height that is slightly below optimal – but it allows a person to rest and relax after wandering the show for several hours.
And… This can lead to listening for longer periods of time. We believe we have a competitive advantage in that the longer people listen the more they will hear the difference between the sound in our room [assuming it doesn’t suck, and it usually doesn’t :-)] and that in other rooms.
In any case, it should be fun 🙂
