Quintessence Audio II – Axpona 2018

The Sonus Faber Aida II loudspeakers definitely sounded better than the version I to my ears. More even across the frequency spectrum and more competent in general. Still has more of the latter-day Sonus Faber sound than their early years for those of you who remember way back when.  In any case, this was the best sound I had heard up to this point in my rounds – and up until the second day when I arrived at the GTT Audio / YG Acoustics room. There was still something lacking in overall performance here, a general digital-like hash sound – whether it was these amps on these speakers, something upstream, or first day setup issues, don’t know.
