SYSTEMS |
Harmonic Resolution Systems (HRS)
is an American company that is dedicated to engineering a
product line that enables your audio/video source and
amplification components to achieve peak performance.
|
|
|
|
Sound |
Their "products
significantly reduce structural-borne and air-borne vibration
over the entire frequency range of any audio/video system."
"Individually, HRS products
produce significant improvements in signal
quality as if you had made a significant upgrade to your
component. Used as a system, the changes will redefine
what you thought were possible."
"Improvements that can be
expected are:
-
Drop in
the noise floor reveals a new level of inner detail
-
Eliminates
glare in digital signal quality without sacrificing
resolution
-
Improves
bass response and bass resolution of amplifiers
-
Larger
soundstage with increased space between instruments
-
Increases
detail and resolution of analog source
-
Significant increases in system musicality and performance
veracity"

DESCRIPTION |
The M3 Isolation Base consists of a thick
slab of granite in a metal frame resting on four very
special feet. |
RECOMMENDED USAGE |
We've had
excellent results using the base under the Audio Aero
Capitole Mk II CD Player, the Edge Electronics
amplifiers and the Lamm Industries ML1.1 amplifier. It
is important to use the particular feet that are
designed for the particular weight range of the component.
At this
point, years later after the above was written, we
have used the platform underneath dozens of different
components and we have always experienced some kind of
improvement, in the vast majority of cases a
significant improvement, and not once were there any
negative side effects.
Transports
and CD players, and equipment with tubes or with
resonant chassis that vibrate when you knock your
knuckles against them will experience a radical
improvement. Using Nimbus's as feet under the
component and on top of the base will also always add
an incremental improvement to the sound, and in many
cases a significant improvement (it depends on how the
stock feet are coupled to the chassis - and we had one
component that we found was only resting on 3 of its 4
feet).
Sold state
equipment with very thick non-resonant chassis will
experience the least amount of improvement - so get
platforms for these pieces last. |

The
Damping Plates are placed on top of components
if various configuration, reducing both airborne and
rack-borne vibrations. |
RECOMMENDED USAGE |
We've had
excellent results placing the midsize plate on top of
the Audio Aero Capitole Mk II CD player (centered behind
the sliding door), on the Sony 9000 DVD player, and on
the Audio Note DAC 3.1x Balanced. We've also had
excellent results putting two of the small plates on the
Lamm L2 Linestage, one on each side, hanging a little
over the edge, so as to not cover the ventilation holes.
The HRS
polymers were developed to run on very hot equipment.
They are good to 400 + F and one might imagine that
there will be more serious issues to deal with if the
amp is hotter than that. |

Nimbus Spacers
and Couplers
Isolation Feet |
|
|
|
DESCRIPTION |
The
Nimbus Spacers and their Couplers are used as feet
underneath components.
Nimbus
spacers are the metallic center pieces, Nimbus couplers
are made of a slightly soft proprietary substance that
goes on the bottom and top of a Nimbus Spacer - in a
sandwich or Oreo like configuration but with the chewy
centers on the outsides.
It is
these soft 'Couplers' that come into contact with your
delicate component's bottom plate and the top of the
shelf of your equipment rack. In this way the Nimbus
product not only provides great sonic benefits, but they
don't potentially scratch your equipment and rack like
so many of the other vibration control feet on the
market.
The
Nimbus Spacers come in various heights in order to prop
up the component off its stock feet, some stock feet
being taller than others.
There
will also be some limited benefits from just
putting a configuration of a single Nimbus Coupler under
a Nimbus Spacer under the stock feet of a component. We
have done this in a pinch, and just to see what it
sounded like - but it provides only about 50% of the
benefit in our experience. |

Analog Disks
LP Spindle Weights |

|
DESCRIPTION |
The
Analog Disk significantly reduces the negative
impact of air-borne and structure-borne vibration on
your turntable performance. The Analog Disk should be
placed directly on the record with the soft side (a
custom formulated elastomer) in contact with the record
label and turntable spindle. It is 3.25" (8.25 cm) in
diameter and 1.35" (3.43 cm) in height. |
