Last day. Zero hour approaching. Warp speed engaged. Threshold
of 'interesting enough to stop and listen' increased.
First thought tube part of speaker. Now think demonstrating
solidity of speaker cabinet. Not toppling and shattering tube.
Room demonstrates wireless audio network.
Looks like Esoteric now makes amps.
Low end Teac gear displayed. Dianna Krall looks on.
Beyond Audio and Video is a new local dealer.
Missing dynamics and resolution usually associated with Kharma.
Musical. Just different than expected.
Not... dynamic as expected. Resolution not as expected. Not enough
time to analyze deeper.
Some photos of Brinkmann* Oasis turntable. System sound too
clipped and harmonically threadbare. Music seemed almost
discontinuous. Hard to follow. Perhaps inexpensive speakers look
too expensive and raise expectations too high.
Relatively easygoing and polite sound. Like many systems, not
attempting greatness. Attempts pleasantness.
Unusually like Nola. Something not quite right. Probably speakers
too big and need to sit in sweet spot - not two chairs away.
No time to sit in sweet spot. Standing up - sound seemed be 'over
there'.
Bass more well integrated than larger Lansche at CES. Midrange
unpleasant. Harsh and abrupt.
Not like ugly mug to be video-taped. Next show will not take
photos of rooms taking video of me. Will run and hide from video
camera. Hope fashion police not catch.
