They were BLASTING AC/DC when I got here. It was really fun. We always like the Odyssey Audio rooms at their aggressively reasonable price point - and this year was no exception. Enjoyable and well-balanced.

And Klaus is such a nice guy, making me laugh when he casually mentioned to someone while I was there some silly comment about how a person could live just fine without one of those 'over-priced systems' that were at the show this year.

I stopped by and saw the new Funky turntable (OK, that is not its name, but it is something like that and now this name is stuck in my head).

Couldn't really tell much on such a system - but I listened for and did not hear any 'bad behavior' of this low cost turntable and the new little Ph3D phono stage.

Be interesting to hear this little guy up against the little Kuzma.

These tubes are big, there is a lot of them and they are hot.

We like the Intuitive Design loudspeakers - great bargains at their price point. But here I thought the sound was a little slow and cloying.

The pictures came out OK, except for the last one, but I really need a tripod to be able to show what a spectacularly iridescent display this was.

OK, so what is with the "No Entry Beyond This Point" signs. We have seen them for the last 3 shows, at least, in rooms that have the ESP speakers. Are they backless / nude back there? Do they have Wilson Audio dart boards mounted on the back of the speakers for after hours fun?

Anyway, I am beginning to think that ESP speakers are firmly in the Sweet-sounding speaker category. You can make them sound not-sweet, but it takes an effort, because they just wanna be sweet.

At past shows we have really liked these Caravelle loudspeakers. But this year they were very analytical and digital sounding. The only difference from last year is the source and, I think, cables.
