Neil, even acoustic Neil with just a piano, guitar and harmonica - make such beautiful music that is just so hard to get right. Either his harmonica tries to tunnel a new path into the brain, or the piano is compressed, or, worse of all, his voice is not reproduced in all its infinite emotional glory. If it is one thing Neil does that completely amazes me, is that during each and every performance he puts all of his heart and soul into that wonderfully poignant voice of his. Quite different from many crooners. Many, even ole blue eyes, later in their careers just seem to give up caring and they sound cold and indifferent. Yes, we all know they are singing the song for the 10,000th time. But, Neil at least seems to get over it and sing each song in the now.

When I heard this system, several times, they did not play Neil and I was not quite as impressed as she was. Its not that it seemed to love a few bands of frequencies more than it should - it could of course been the room that was responsible for that. It was just that is was not as engaging as some of the other systems at the show. The system sounded competent but really somewhat dark and reticent, to these ears.

Another room that could have benefited from attention to vibration control, especially with those pieces of Lamm equipment.

Oh. The turntable was absolutely stunning looking. The pictures do not do it justice. The list price was rumored to be $50,000.
