Ho do we think this system sounded? Better than the one next door. Can we get away with just that? No? Thanks goodness there are some interesting sounded rooms coming up. This is why reviewers only review things they know they are probably going to like. Saying negative things about a system is just... a big downer man.

This system sounded somewhat compressed, but what really stands out is the real lack of micro-dynamics (and midi-dynamics ain't so great either). Which causes a loss of finesse and musical information and a hardness in some of the notes and in general makes the music as a whole sound dull and lifeless.

Now, I know who I think the culprit is, and I have heard them in enough systems that I am pretty darn sure that my thinking is correct. But a wiser man than myself told me that it is unwise to say things like this because in the end it is only a guess unless you can get the system in-house and actually verify. But let's just say that we have heard the same effect with the alleged culprit on Wilson Maxx I speakers. So, well, you now know we don't think it is the speakers...

And now we find out that the speakers are in the $70K price range. Obviously an ambitious design, hope to hear them at next year's CES.
