fully understand the technical side of the installation, but from a esthetical point of view..., anyhow hope it works to burn in power cables with an 5v signal. 
interesting experimnent  but this is high end, lets  see the results

I think you are referring to the wires Neli is using to connect the power cord to the Vidar? Yeah, she is kind of pissed for me photographing them - but until we verify that the Vidar can really burn in in power cords [which we will find out in our shootout any day now] there seems no need to solder the ends to those wall outlets the power cords are plugged into and to make some banana plugs for the other ends. 

And, just so you know we ain't crazy, there is max, say, 5 volts [and at a low current] at those exposed wires - nothing dangerous [if we want to commit suicide, we'll go to Circuit City and turn up the volume :-)]. But this low voltage is why we are wondering if this is even going to work - and if it does, how well will it work.
