I think that the vast majority of people are burned out on that stuff and are migrating from forums and unmoderated venues like that to blogs and other forms of entertainment and information. But still, how much of what they said do ordinary people also think but do not say out of politeness or deference to those that understand the domain? I actually took some photos today!
